Centro Altiero Spinelli per l’Europa dei Popoli e la Pace nel Mondo
Centre Altiero Spinelli (CeAS) for Peoples’ Europe and Peace in the World was set up in 2003, within the framework of the Jean Monnet Action for the establishment of university centres of excellence financed by the European Commission to support research and training activities in the field of European studies.
Originally located at University Roma Tre, the Centre was founded on the initiative of Prof. Luigi Moccia, in his capacity as holder of the Jean Monnet Chair, who directed the Centre in parallel with the scientific journal La cittadinanza europea, he also founded (in 2002).
Following the closure of CeAS as university Centre, the cultural association “Centre Altiero Spinelli (CeAS) for the Europe of the peoples and peace in the world” was born in order to preserve and develop, in continuity with the Centre of excellence, the heritage constituted by the scientific-cultural activities both of research and dissemination and related documentation.
